Professor Ambrogio Fasoli is the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs at EPFL. Until the end of 2024, he was Program Manager (CEO) of the European Fusion Energy Consortium, EUROfusion. Ambrogio Fasoli, Fellow of the American Physical Society, member of the Accademia dei Lincei, Academia Europea and Swiss Academy of Arts and Sciences, studied at the University of Milan and received his doctorate from EPFL. After conducting experiments on the European JET tokamak in UK, he became a professor of physics at MIT, USA, where he worked from 1997 to 2001. From 2014 to 2020, he served as chief editor of the IAEA journal Nuclear Fusion, and from 2015 to 2024 as director of the Swiss Plasma Center.
